DJ Pete

DJ Pete Prior to telling you about the beginning, Pete likes to remember the middle, the winter of 1994 to be precise.

Having the necessary grades, and a few Greek school OACs which paid off unexpectedly, Pete was dealt the decision of which post-secondary education institution to attend: The University of Toronto, York, or Ryerson. The majority of Pete's colleagues, as well as his high school counselors, advised him to attend U of T or York, in that order, and not to even consider Ryerson.

The world of academia had always been central in Pete's life, but as he reflected on his options, Pete realized that the decision of which University to attend had been decided long ago. The University of Toronto and York were compelling opportunities, but the real passion in Pete's life was DJ'ing House music. The University of Toronto and York couldn't hold a candle to Ryerson when it came to sating Pete's appetite for House and vinyl. Ryerson was just a stone's throw from Pete's three favourite establishments in the entire nation: Play De Record, Starsound, and Carnival. Not to mention, Ryerson was the home of CKLN, the radio station playing host to Toronto's most important underground (if you believe in such a concept) radio show - Dave's Dance Music.

The decision was made, and it worked out to be the best move of both Pete's professional and personal careers.
